Founder & Designer
Inspired by storytelling, art, and sentimentality, Mattye shares her passion for family and beautiful design through Namesake Celebrations.
Mattye has been a collector of keepsakes since childhood, valuing the way tangible goods connect us to moments in our lives and help us savor and share our stories. By honing in on her classic and romantic style, she partners with other female creators to bring Namesake’s modern heirlooms to life through sewing and embroidery..
Mattye discovers her most meaningful ideas within her family and the life they’re making together. She and her husband Woody live in Birmingham, Alabama, with their three young children.
Where It All Began
In 2017, first-time moms Mattye Woodcock and Rachel Coffey journeyed through their first year of motherhood together and found a love for planning their babies’ first birthday parties.
Their collective experience in product curation, styling, and hospitality as well as their shared spirit of entrepreneurship, led them to the idea for Namesake Celebrations. When they launched the brand in February 2021, the initial collections were composed of curated options to give moms a one-stop-shop for customizable, quality goods for their children’s birthdays. The product offerings have naturally evolved and expanded, but the heart for families and celebrating has remained the same.
In 2024, Rachel transitioned to focus on her passion for children and teaching, and Mattye continued the business. Still friends cheering each other on every step of the way, we cherish the story of how Namesake Celebrations began.
